Hawaii doctors endorse Lingle for Senate

MEDIA RELEASE

HAMPAC, the Political Action Committee of the Hawaii Medical Association (HMA), has endorsed Linda Lingle for Hawaii’s open U.S. Senate seat.

“The board of the HAMPAC is delighted today to endorse Governor Lingle for the United States Senate. She is clearly committed to advancing affordable, quality health care for all the people of Hawaii and the nation. Governor Lingle is the only candidate that understands the need to ensure we all have access to high quality and affordable health care, while also recognizing the realities facing medical professionals,” said F. Don Parsa, M.D., plastic surgeon at Queens Medical Center and professor at the John H. Burns School of Medicine, representing HAMPAC. “Her leadership is critically needed in Washington as we face challenging times ahead,” Dr. Parsa added.

“I am very grateful for the HAMPAC endorsement, especially at a time when the health care system in our country is at the forefront of public debate. Doctors are on the front lines every day, ensuring that the people of Hawaii are cared for properly,” Lingle said.

“I have demonstrated experience in improving health care for the State of Hawaii and am committed to bringing that same leadership to the national level where I will work with my colleagues to best provide for the health care needs of our state and nation,” Lingle added.

HMA is a local organization of more than 1,100 physicians, resident physicians, and medical students in the state of Hawaii. It is dedicated to serving physicians, their patients, and the community through representation, advocacy, and public service.
