Foster care program at Kona library (May 17)

* Foster Care Library Program
5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17
Kailua Kona Public Library

The Kailua Kona Public Library is hosting a free informational seminar given by Kaulana Iokia on becoming a resource family for children in foster care.

On any given day in Hawaii, there are keiki who are in need of a safe and loving ohana. Removed from their homes due to abuse and/or neglect, keiki are sometimes placed in homes outside of their communities because there are not enough resource families in the area.

Partners in Development Foundation (PIDF) was contracted by the State of Hawaii Department of Human Services to identify, recruit, train, and assess families that are willing to open their hearts and homes to children in foster care.
