MEDIA RELEASE Â
Kona Community Hospital is participating in the “Look Good Feel Better” program sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Â
Through this program, an ACS representative and a licensed cosmetologist will lead small groups through practical, hands-on beauty experiences. Â
Women who are receiving chemotherapy or radiation treatments learn about make-up techniques, skin care, nail care, and options related to hair loss such as wigs, turbans, and scarves. Â
Each group participant will receive a free cosmetic kit for use during and after the workshop. The retail cost of the kit is $200.
The first “Look Good Feel Better” workshop is 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 at Kona Community Hospital’s Radiation Oncology Clinic. Workshops are limited to 10 participants.
To register, contact Carlo Mireles, American Cancer Society’s Community Manager for Health Initiatives, at 333-9338.
