Kona woman is charged with attempted murder

Detectives have charged a 22-year-old Captain Cook woman for several offenses stemming from the attempted murder of a Kona man.

On March 31 (Monday) at 6:45 p.m. detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section charged Randi-Keli K. Banagan with attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the second degree, terroristic threatening in the first degree, reckless endangering in the second degree, use of a firearm in the commission of a separate felony, three counts of place to keep loaded firearm, three counts of loaded firearm on a public highway, place to keep ammunition, two counts of illegal transfer possession of firearms, two counts of permit to acquire firearm, two counts of ownership possession firearm prohibited, promoting a dangerous drug in the third degree, and drug paraphernalia.

Bail for Banagan was set at $498,000. She was held at the Kona cellblock pending her initial court appearance scheduled for April 1 (Tuesday).
