Waiakea Warriors tough on the Pahoa Daggers in girls volleyball

Photos and story by Rick Ogata/Special to Hawaii 24/7

The Waiakea Warriors started off with a bang and never looked back. In the first game Waiakea made quick work in defeating the Pahoa Dragon girls team. Pahoa could not get anything going in the first set losing 3-25. In the second set Pahoa played a bit better but they still were out matched losing 12-25. In the third set Pahoa played much better giving the host Warriors a bit of a fight. In the middle of the set Pahoa ran off several consecutive points. But in the end the defending BIIF Champions proved to be too talented for the visiting Pahoa Dragons winning the third set 17-25. In the earlier Junior Varsity game Waiakea won 12-21 & 10-21.
