A High Surf Advisory remains in effect for Ka‘u, East Hawaii and Hamakua until 6 p.m. Monday (Dec 12).

Surf along East facing shores are forecast to be six to 10 feet in height consisting of rough and choppy surf that will build through Sunday and dissipate Sunday night and Monday.

Big Island police are requesting the public's help in obtaining information about the damage and theft of traffic signs at the end of South Kulani Road near the entrances into the Hawaiian Acres and Fern Acres subdivisions. Damage and theft of signs in both subdivisions has been an ongoing problem.
