Pahoa Post Office temporarily adds Sunday hours for evacuees and residents from eruption areas

The U.S. Postal Service announced temporary Sunday hours for their customers affected by the Kilauea eruption. The Pahoa Post Office will open for will call between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sundays to distribute mail and packages to evacuees and residents that are experiencing interruptions in their mail delivery service due to the eruption.

Pahoa Post Office reopens for business Friday (May 18)

The Pahoa Post Office will reopen for business today, Friday, May 18. Retail services will resume its usual hours of operation: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Mail delivery will resume on all accessible routes.

Pahoa Post Office temporarily closed due to reduced air quality

Due to air quality concerns, the Pahoa Post Office is closed for business today, Thursday, May 17. This closure encompasses mail delivery as well as retail operations. The office will reopen and delivery will resume when conditions permit. This closure will be reevaluated on a day-to-day basis.

Hilo Downtown Post Office reopens, Puna eruption evacuees pick up mail at Pahoa Post Office

USPS announced today that the Hilo Downtown Post Office has reopened for business. The postal facility, located in the Hilo Federal Building at 154 Waianuenue Avenue, had been closed on May 4 when the federal building was evacuated due to structural concerns in the wake of the earthquakes that have accompanied the eruption.

Mail for Kilauea Eruption evacuees being held at Pahoa Post Office

The U.S. Postal Service announced an adjustment to its delivery services in response to the eruption of lava from volcanic vents in the Puna region of Hawaii island. The eruption resulted in the mandatory evacuation of residents and the complete shutdown of access to the neighborhoods in the area of the vents.

Downtown Hilo Post Office customers to pick-up mail at airport Post Office

U.S. Postal Service announced today mail pick up details for customers impacted by the temporary closure of the Hilo Downtown Post Office. Until further notice, Hilo Downtown’s PO Box customers are asked to pick up their mail from the will call window at the Hilo Main Post Office at 1299 Kekuanaoa Street.
