In observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week, Governor Neil Abercrombie has ordered that all national and Hawai’i flags at state offices and agencies as well as the Hawai’i National Guard are to be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.

The outdoor ceremony honored four Big Island police officers killed in the line of duty: Manuel Cadinha (1918), William "Red" Oili (1936), Ronald "Shige" Jitchaku (1990), and Kenneth Keliipio (1997).
