Firefighters continue work Friday (June 22) at containing a pair of brushfires in Pahala which have consumed thousands of acres. The ‘Cane Haul Road’ fire above Pahala town is 95 percent contained and is under control. The ‘Cane Haul Road Fire’ area along Alii Springs Road and Higashi Camp Road is 95 percent contained. The ‘Highway 11 Fire’ area has not yet been contained and is in mixed brush mauka of the highway and a Macadamia Nut orchard with pastureland makai of the highway.
