Each year, approximately 3,000 people die as a result of home fires and burns, and more than 200,000 individuals are treated for burn injuries in emergency rooms throughout the nation. Many burns come from exposure to fire and can result in serious scarring or even death. However, these injuries can be prevented if we take the necessary precautions to keep our homes safe.
