Red Flag Fire Warning issued for Leeward areas starting at noon Thursday (Nov 15)

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a red flag fire warning for Thursday noon to 6 p.m. (Nov 15) as they forecast strong winds and low relative humidty for Leeward areas. The affected areas are Ka‘u, Kona, Kohala and interior areas of the Big Island.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Red Flag Fire Warning for leeward sections of all Hawaiian islands due to low humidity and gusty winds. The warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday (Nov 27).

Winds are forecast to come from the Notheast at 15-25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Relative humidity levels in leeward areas is around 40 percent with temperatures about 80F.
