Hawai‘i Electric Light Company announces that the partial lane closure of Highway 19 between the 16 and 17-mile markers in Hakalau has been extended to September 1, 2017.

To improve system reliability, crews have been upgrading transmission and distribution facilities and equipment in the area. As the work was being done, crews found additional poles that must be replaced due to deterioration which will require more time to complete the project.

One lane of Hina Lani Street in Kona closed due to accident investigation

From 1-2:30 p.m. Thursday (May 4), the east-bound lane of Hina Lani Street at Kamanu Street will be closed to traffic. Motorists should take a detour through Kaloko Light Industrial Park in Kona. The roadway closure is due to traffic accident reconstruction being conducted by the Traffic Enforcement Unit’s investigation.

Police close one lane on Alii Drive for accident investigation, now open

The Hawai’i Police Department reports that Ali’i Drive south of the Queen Kalama Avenue intersection in Kailua-Kona is now open. The south bound lane was previously closed as Traffic Enforcement Unit Officers continued their investigation into an earlier traffic accident. The Hawai’i Police Department thanks the public for their patience and understanding.

Hawai‘i Electric Light Company announces a partial lane closure on Kuakini Highway between Sunset Drive and La‘aloa Avenue in Kailua-Kona on July 17-18, 2015.
 
One lane will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 17, and from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, to allow the company to repair a transmission pole. Motorists are advised to expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
