Police investigate theft of vehicle in North Kohala

Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating the theft of a Land Pride utility vehicle in North Kohala. According to police, the theft occurred between Friday, (December 22), at 5:00 p.m., and Tuesday, (December 26), at 8:15 a.m. Suspect(s) entered onto the property at Kohala Plants nursery and stole the vehicle which was parked under a tent.

Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating the theft of chainsaws and other equipment in North Kohala.

The theft occurred between Tuesday, (December 19), at 5:00 p.m., and Wednesday,(December 20) at 8:00 a.m.

Suspects entered a locked tool storage at the Kohala Plants Nursery and stole four chainsaws, a Stihl 25, 18”, Stihl 26-22”, Echo CS340-14”, and Echo CS341-14”.  They also took a cordless Milwaukee Sawzall, 18V Dewalt drill, and driver and an Electric Winch.

Fire/Rescue crews answered a 1:23 a.m. alarm Sunday (Dec 3) to Honokane Nui Valley in North Kohala for two stranded hikers.

Five hikers were in Honokane Nui Valley and although three hikers, a female and two males, were able to hike out to the Pololu Lookout two female hikers were stranded by rising waters.
