The United States Marine Corp's Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was called to the Keaukaha area of Hilo on Monday (June 14) after police responded to a report of a bomb.

A relative had been cleaning a family home of the recently deceased occupant, when she found what appeared to be a bomb under the house.

The Department of Water Supply has reported a water main break in Keaukaha which is affecting beach parks from Koloa Street to the Kalanianaole Street dead end.

Leleiwi and Richardson Ocean parks will be closed today until water service is restored. The County Parks Maintenance Division is posting signs to inform the public of the temporary closure.

Affected Area: Along Lyman Avenue Between Pua Avenue And Andrews Avenue, Keaukaha, South Hilo, Hawaii

Water will be temporarily turned off in the above-mentioned area on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to relocate a fire hydrant.  

Upon the resumption of water service, the waterlines will be flushed and cleaned, during which time you may notice turbid and/or discolored water.
