High winds lead to HawaiianTelcom fiber cable cut in North Kona, phones and internet affected *UPDATED*

At about 3:30 p.m. today, a break was discovered on Hawaiian Telcom’s fiber cable on Mamalahoa Highway near Hualalai Ranch. Technicians located the damaged cable in a remote wooded area that is full of trees. High winds are believed to have snapped the 36-pair fiber cable.

FBI busts over 400 Tor network websites

Federal law enforcement has taken action against over 400 Tor hidden service .onion addresses, including dozens of “dark market” websites, that were offering a range of illegal goods and services for sale on the “Tor” network, a special network of computers on the Internet designed to conceal the locations of individuals using it.
