Firefighters knocked down three separate brushfires Thursday morning (Feb 11) along Hookena Beach Road. The alarm was raised shortly after 8 a.m. Crews had the fires under control by 10 a.m. and extinguished by 2 p.m. About 1 acre was scorched by the fires, which flared up 1/2 mile, 1-1/2 miles and 1-3/4 miles down Hookena Beach Road from Mamalahoa Highway.
