Big Island police are renewing their request for the public's help in locating a 42-year-old North Kona woman who was reported missing.

Naomi Sanders left her Kainaliu home the night of June 6.

Honolulu Police received an unconfirmed Crime Stoppers tip about a possible sighting on Oahu on or about June 15 in the Nimitz area in the vicinity of the Honolulu airport. She was wearing black shorts and a blue T-shirt.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo women’s soccer program beat Chaminade University 3-0 in a Pacific West Conference match on the St. Louis High School field in Honolulu, Hawaii.

" We played well today and generated more scoring opportunities," said UHH head coach Marc Miranda.

The Vulcans are 4-5-1 overall and 3-4 in the PacWest while the Silverswords are 2-5 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

Lt. Governor James R. “Duke” Aiona, Jr. today announced that the State will provide more than $8.3 million to the four counties to reduce and prevent underage drinking in Hawai‘i.

Through a 2006 federal grant, the state committed $10.45 million over five years to address the public health concern of underage drinking.

At the Neal Blaisdell Center, the HPU men’s basketball team defeated UH-Hilo, 103-99, in overtime.  C.J. Jackson posted 33 points and 15 rebounds, and Ray Murdock added 31 points and 10 rebounds, as HPU improved to 6-1 in the PacWest and 14-4 overall. The Vulcans dropped to 4-3 in conference and 10-7 overall.

The Swords took the second of three matchups with Hawaii-Hilo, defeating the Vulcans 68-62.
 
The game was tight early, with the game tied at 6-6 in the early minutes. Chaminade went on a run going up double figures before the Vulcans narrowed it to 30-25 at the half.
 
Chaminade looked to run away from UH-Hilo, building a double-digit lead midway through the second half, but the Vulcans would comply, cutting the lead to three in the final minutes.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo dropped the consolation game of the Hawaii Challenge, 76-96, to Hawaii Pacific University in a game played in McCabe Gymnasium in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Vulcans are 2-4 while the Sea Warriors are 4-3.

Bryan Ngo led the Vulcans with 17 points while Andrew Gipson and Justin Smith added 15 points each and Lavell Shipman had 10.
