Fire/rescue crews responded to an 8:04 p.m. alarm Saturday (Feb 11) to Mamalahoa Highway (Hwy 180) South of the eight mile marker in Holualoa for a vehicle crash which brought down a utility pole and lines. The Southbound vehicle struck a support pole which caused a utility pole to sheer off at its base bringing down lines with it. The utility pole fell on the mauka side of the road while the support pole was across the highway.
