In response to increasing demand for financial aid and scholarship assistance, the Hawaii Preparatory Academy has established “The Kulia Fund,” an endowment to support high school students who are seeking the opportunity to excel in a unique secondary school environment.  The announcement, made on Tuesday, October 20, by Headmaster Lindsay Barnes Jr., comes during the school’s 60th anniversary.

Middle School students at Hawaii Preparatory Academy (HPA) will present Bugsy Malone at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, October 14 and 15.  The hour-long musical performance, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Gates Performing Arts Center on the school’s Upper Campus.

Bugsy Malone, a popular pint-sized, pin-striped movie classic, has been adapted for the stage.  Like the film, this wild and wacky musical is a fun romp set in the 1920s.
