Kaulana Manu Nature Trail to close for parking and restroom construction

The Kaulana Manu Nature Trail (formerly known as Kipuka 21) will be closed beginning March 2, 2019, for construction of restroom and parking facilities. The construction is expected to be completed by September, with the trail reopening soon after.

County vehicle registration and license services suspended in Kona & Waimea

The Finance Department reports that Vehicle Registration and Driver’s License Services are not available in Waimea and at the West Hawaii Civic Center until further notice due to severed cables by falling trees. Mechanical loading of mulch not available at East Hawaii facility February 8-13, 2019

The County of Hawaiʻi was recently notified by Hawaiian Earth Recycling, LLC, that the supply of mulch has been depleted at the East Hawaiʻi Organics Facility in Hilo. Mechanical loading of mulch will not be available from Friday, February 8 through Wednesday, February 13, at the East Hawaiʻi Organics Facility.

County self-service kiosk to renew vehicle registrations opens at Hilo Safeway Thursday (Feb 14)

In the interest of reducing long lines, Hawai‘i County’s Vehicle Registration & Licensing Division offices will introduce a self-service kiosk at the Hilo Safeway store for customers to renew their Hawaii County vehicle registrations. The grand opening of the kiosk will take place on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 10 a.m.
