Students from West Hawaii Explorations Academy, one of the schools participating in the Big Island Bulb Blitz, will help coordinate the McDonald’s CFL exchange. For every incandescent bulb exchanged at the event, West Hawaii Explorations Academy will receive 50 cents. While supplies last, participants will receive a free CFL for every incandescent bulb brought in.

Bring your new or used incandescent light bulb to Earl’s Garage before May 28, and you’ll receive free compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs). Each household can exchange up to 5 incandescent light bulbs for the free CFLs. CFLs use less electricity to produce the same amount of light, helping you save money and energy.
