The Hamakua Community Development Plan Steering Committee will be holding its first meeting on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at 5 p.m. at the Laupahoehoe Public Library Humanities Room. The Steering Committee’s purpose is to ensure that the CDP reflects community input to the CDP. Steering Committee meetings are monthly “business” meetings where issues are discussed and decisions are made according to the CDP process.

Meet the South Kohala CDP committee in Waimea Thursday (March 4)

The County of Hawaii Planning Department is now accepting applications for the South Kohala Community Development Plan Action Committee.  Closing date to submit an application is Wednesday, March 24, 2010.  All applications must be received in the Hilo or Kona Planning offices by 4:30 p.m. or be postmarked by March 24, 2010.

Fourteen months after adoption, the Puna Community Development Plan took its first steps forward at the inaugural meeting of its Action Committee Friday, Nov. 20 at the Kea'au Community Center.  At the meeting, Mayor Kenoi's nine new appointees took oaths to faithfully discharge their duties in overseeing the implementation of the plan, a comprehensive, collective community effort over two years in the making.
