A 25-year-old Hawi man died Saturday (December 3) from injuries he sustained in a one-vehicle crash on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) .4 miles north of the 8-mile marker in the North Kohala District.

Oahu-based military units will convoy from Pohakuloa Training Area to Kawaihae Harbor Aug. 24-25, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., via Saddle Road, Mamalahoa Hwy., Waikoloa Road, Queen Kaahumanu Hwy., and Akoni Pule corridor.

Firefighters responded to a 10:23 a.m. alarm Saturday (May 22) to a brushfire along the Akoni Pule Highway in the area of the 11 and 12 mile markers of the Kohala coast. The fire burned 300 acres and the highway was closed during the blaze and was re-opened at approximately 6:30 p.m.

MEDIA RELEASE Police traffic investigators have identified a 24-year-old North Kohala woman who died Saturday (December 13) from injuries she sustained in a one-vehicle crash on Akoni Pule Highway, 247 feet south of the 6-mile marker. The victim was identified as Janelle Ann Morse of Hawi.
