Coast Guard, Navy responding to report of downed aircraft

The Coast Guard and Navy responded Thursday (July 14) to a report of a downed aircraft off the Kona Coast. Searching late Thursday were HC-130 Hercules airplane crews and MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crews from Air Station Barbers Point with a Navy MH-60R helicopter crew from the USS Chung Hoon (DDG-93).

The Hawai'i Police Department is warning the public that it is dangerous and illegal to aim laser pointers at any aircraft.
