Kona Community Aquatic Center scheduled to reopen Tuesday (Oct 22)

Free Surf Camp for keiki with disabilities to be held at Richardson Ocean Park

The Hawai‘i County Department of Parks and Recreation announces that the Surfers Healing Camp for children with disabilities will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Richardson Ocean Park in Hilo. Kohala Pool temporary closure Wed-Fri (Sept 25-27)

Results of the HIPA Kuuipo Canoe Races in Kona Saturday (March 16)

Results of the Hawaii Island Paddlesports Association (HIPA) canoe races for OC-1, OC-2, V-1 Rudderless canoes. The 10-mile long course started outside Honokohau Harbor and finished inside Keauhou Bay, while the 6-mile short course ran from outside Keauhou to turn at Lyman’s Bay and returned to the finish line inside Keauhou Bay.

Results of the Freddie Berengue Ohana Wa‘a Race Saturday (March 9)

Second Annual Freddie Berengue Memorial Race. The 10-mile course was paddled from Kekaha Kai State Park at Mahaiula to the finish line inside Honokohau Harbor, where awards and a delicious lunch was provided at the Hawaii Island Paddlesports Association (HIPA) halau for the paddlers, the Officials, and their assistants.
