Tropical storm conditions are expected over Maui County and the Big Island starting late Tuesday or Tuesday night. Olivia is expected to produce total rainfall accumulations of 10 to 15 inches. Isolated maximum amounts of 20 inches are possible, especially over windward sections of Maui County and Hawaii Island.

Gov. David Ige has asked the President of the United States to declare a major disaster for the State of Hawai‘i as a result of the impacts from Hurricane Lane. This includes floods and wildfires that occurred as a result of the hurricane, from Aug. 22 to Aug. 29, 2018.
