Hawaiian Volcano Observatory confirms the eruption in Leilani continues. Two new fissures have emerged south of Malama Street emitting lava and gas. A community meeting will be held tonight at Pāhoa High School Cafeteria at 5:30 p.m.

Hilo Downtown Post Office reopens, Puna eruption evacuees pick up mail at Pahoa Post Office

USPS announced today that the Hilo Downtown Post Office has reopened for business. The postal facility, located in the Hilo Federal Building at 154 Waianuenue Avenue, had been closed on May 4 when the federal building was evacuated due to structural concerns in the wake of the earthquakes that have accompanied the eruption.

Downtown Hilo Post Office customers to pick-up mail at airport Post Office

U.S. Postal Service announced today mail pick up details for customers impacted by the temporary closure of the Hilo Downtown Post Office. Until further notice, Hilo Downtown’s PO Box customers are asked to pick up their mail from the will call window at the Hilo Main Post Office at 1299 Kekuanaoa Street.
