Kilauea Eruption: Lava production in the Lower East Rift Zone still very active Monday (June 18)

Hawaiian Volcano Observatory reports Fissure 8 continues to be very active with a fast-moving channelized flow entering the ocean at Kapoho Bay. The vent is producing a large Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) plume and a large laze plume at the ocean entry.  Seismic activity continues at Kilauea Summit.

Kilauea Eruption: HVO reports morning ash eruption at Kilauea summit Sunday (June 17)

Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) reports that an ash eruption at the Kilauea Summit occurred at approximately 6:26 a.m. An ash plume was generated. The wind is blowing in the southwest direction and ash may affect the areas of Volcano and Ka‘u.

Kilauea Eruption: Heavy vog to blanket parts of the island due to ongoing eruption Saturday (June 16)

Hawaiian Volcano Observatory reports that Fissure 8 in the lower East Rift Zone continues to be very active and is flowing into the ocean at Kapoho.  Fissure 16 is oozing lava and is being monitored closely.

Kilauea Eruption: Fissure 8 still very active sending lava to Kapoho, summit ash eruption Wednesday (June 6)

The National Weather Service reports slow, easterly winds are expected to bring vog to the island interior starting tonight, and over the next two days. The wind is blowing in the southwest direction and ash fallout may affect the areas of Volcano and Pahala.
