UPDATED: South Kona water tank repaired Tuesday (April 23)

 UPDATE (4:27 p.m. 4/23/19): South Kona Water Outage – REPAIRS COMPLETED 

AFFECTED AREAS: NAPOOPOO, HONAUNAU, SOUTH KONA, HAWAI‘I 

This is a Department of Water Supply (DWS) message for Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at 4:15 p.m. 

Tank repairs have been completed and the system is back to normal. Therefore, the water restriction is CANCELLED. 

DWS appreciates the community’s cooperation and patience during this time.

AFFECTED AREAS: NAPOOPOO, HONAUNAU, SOUTH KONA, HAWAI‘I 

This is a Department of Water Supply (DWS) message for Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at 11:15 a.m. 

Due to unexpected repairs on the existing Keei “A” tank (South Kona), customers may experience no water or low water pressure. Therefore, a Water Restriction has been issued  for the above mentioned affected area. 

The following emergency water restrictions are in effect until repairs are completed: 

1. Customers should restrict water usage to health and safety needs only (drinking, cooking, and hygiene purposes only). 

2. Irrigation activities should cease immediately.  

Please kōkua and limit water usage. Repairs to the tank are expected to be completed in approximately four hours. A water tanker will be stationed near the intersection of Painted Church Road and Middle Keei Road.
