High Surf Warning and Wind Advisory for Hawaii Island

The National Weather Service High Surf Warning for the East facing shores of Hamakua, Hilo and Puna is NOW in effect through tomorrow. A High Surf Warning means there is a dangerous threat to life and property from the surf.

Hawaiʻi Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a Hilo man wanted for an outstanding warrant of arrest, as well as questioning in connection with the recent purchase of vehicles from different car dealerships in Hilo using forged identification and fraudulent cashier’s checks.

Average gas prices in Hawaii fall 0.9 cents per gallon the past week

Average retail gasoline prices in Hawaii have fallen 0.9 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.67/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 355 gas outlets in Hawaii. This compares with the national average that has fallen 1.1 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.50/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
