Hawaiʻi Island police report that the wanted person in connection with a counterfeit investigation in Pāhoa was located on, (November 15), at 1:15 p.m., in Keaʻau.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police ask anyone having information on the case to call officer Kimo Veincentof the Puna Police at (808) 965-2716, or the police non-emergency

New visitor procedures at OCCC being implemented

Effective Wednesday, November 15, 2017, the Halawa Correctional Facility (HCF) is implementing changes to its “Searches of Visitors and Staff” policy. This is part of ongoing efforts to crack down on contraband entering the correctional system. The policy will also be enacted at the Oahu Community Correctional Center (OCCC) on November 22, 2017.

Average retail gasoline prices in Hawaii have risen 17.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.54/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 355 gas outlets in Hawaii. This compares with the national average that has increased 1.5 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.55/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
