Military convoys scheduled from Pōhakuloa to Kawaihae Nov 27 and 29, 2017

Soldiers from the 2-6th Cavalry Regiment are scheduled to convoy from Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA) to Kawaihae Docks Nov. 27 and 29. The convoys are scheduled to start at 8 a.m. Nov. 27, and to start at 9 a.m. Nov. 29. On both dates, all convoys should be completed by no later than 3:30 p.m.

During the week of November 13, 2017, through November 19, 2017, Hawaiʻi Island police arrested 25 motorists for driving under the influence of an intoxicant. One of the drivers was involved in a traffic accident. One of the drivers was under the age of 21.

So far this year, there have been 1,026 DUI arrests compared with 964 during the same period last year, an increase of 6.4 percent.

Hawai’i Island police have located a 51-year-old man, who was reported missing.

On Sunday, (November 19), at approximately 6 p.m., officers responded to the area of the Old Kona Airport Beach in Kailua-Kona for a report of a missing person.

Average retail gasoline prices in Hawaii have fallen 3.1 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.42/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 355 gas outlets in Hawaii. This compares with the national average that has fallen 2.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.54/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
