Fire/rescue crews responded to a 1:40 a.m. alarm Sunday (Dec 25) for a crashed delivery truck on the Puainako Extension near the 4 Mile Marker in Hilo.

Crews arrived at the crash scene to find an overturned delivery truck laying on the driver’s side down an 8-foot embankment with diesel fuel leaking from the 70 gallon fuel tanks. The driver was able to get out of the truck before crews arrived.
