Fire destroys structure in Ocean View Saturday (Nov 26)

Fire/rescue crews responded to a 3:34 p.m. alarm Saturday (Nov 26) to 92-8730 Lehua Lane in Ocean View for a structure fire.

Crews arrived to find a single story 30-by-60 foot unpermitted structure engulfed in flames. Firefighters had the fire under control by 4 p.m. and it was reported to be out at 5:59 p.m.

The structure and contents were declared a total loss. Nineteen people were living in the structure, there were no injuries as all evacuated to a neighboring property.

Red Cross disaster volunteers were dispatched to meet with the evacuated residents to see to their needs of food, shelter and clothing. Caseworkers plan to follow up to provide referrals and assistance as needed.
