Work furlough inmate fails to return to Hale Nani facility

HILO – Hale Nani work furlough inmate Jeremy Ward failed to return from a furlough pass to the reintegration center Saturday night. Ward left at 8 a.m. and was scheduled to return by 8 p.m. State Sheriffs and Hawaii County Police were notified.

Ward is a community custody inmate in the work furlough program with pass privileges. Community custody is the lowest classification status.

39-year old Ward is 5’5” tall and weighs 135 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was serving time for Theft 2, Bail Jumping 1 and Promoting Prison Contraband 2. He faces an additional escape charge when found. His next parole hearing was scheduled for November 2016.

Hale Nani, HCCC’s reintegration program, is a dorm-style building located in Panaewa. Hale Nani offers offenders reintegration services and a work release program for sentenced inmates who will be released on the island of Hawaii.
