As of 11 a.m. HST Monday (July 11) Celia was a Category 2 hurricane and was about 1,190 miles (1,910 km) west-southwest off the southern tip of Baja California. Maximum sustained winds are about 100 mph (155 km/h) with higher gusts. Celia is moving west at 9 mph (15 km/h).
Celia is forecast to weaken as it moves west towards Hawaii.
Hurricane force winds extend 30 miles (45 km) from the center and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km).
Currently there are no watches or warnings for Hawaii for Hurricane Celia.
