Hawaii Police Department reports that Hualalai Road from Alii Drive to the Queen Kaahumanu Hwy Extension (Route 11) is now open. It was previously closed due to a brushfire. Motorists are urged to exercise caution in the area as emergency crews are still on scene.

The Hawaii Police Department reports that the Hualalai Road closure has been extended to the Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Route 11) intersection. Motorists are asked to take alternate routes and to avoid this location. The Kekuaokalani Gymnasium, next to Kona Community Aquatic Center, has been opened as a shelter for displaced residents due to the fire.

The Hawaii Police Department reports the closure of Hualalai Road from Alii Drive to Nani Kailua due to a brush fire. All motorists are asked to avoid this location and take alternate routes as HFD crews address this brush fire. The expected closure time is not known at this time.
