Two women jump off Rainbow Falls, one injured

Fire/rescue responded to a 1:08 p.m. alarm Tuesday (Jan 12) to Rainbow Falls for a woman who was injured after jumping off the waterfall.

Fire dispatch reports that bystanders saw two women in their 20s jump off the 80-foot tall Rainbow Falls. One woman was injured after the jump. Both women were helped to the river bank by the bystanders to the southeast side on bottom of Rainbow Falls.

The women were airlifted to safety by Chopper One where the injured woman was treated by medics and taken to Hilo Medical Center.
