Police are searching for a man wanted in a harassment case

Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 37-year-old man wanted for questioning in connection within an ongoing investigation of an alleged repeated campaign of harassment in a Waikoloa Village neighborhood.

Matthew P. McGill is described as 6-foot-8, 285 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. His last known address was in Waikoloa.

As part of this ongoing investigation, 24-year-old Joshua Honcoop of Waikoloa Village was arrested Thursday (December 10) and charged with harassment, harassment by stalking and disorderly conduct. He was released after posting $1,250 bail.

Police ask anyone with information about McGill’s whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300. Crime Stoppers is a volunteer program run by ordinary citizens who want to keep their community safe. Crime Stoppers doesn’t record calls or subscribe to caller ID.
