Police release photos of murdered Kona man and his truck

Hawaiʻi Island police have released a photo of a man whose body was found August 9 in Captain Cook.

The victim, 69-year-old Dolores Borja Valle of Hōlualoa, was also known as “Lolo.” An autopsy determined that he died from sharp and blunt force trauma to the head and that the manner of death was homicide. His body was found in a coffee field off Keopuka Mauka Road.

His white 2014 Toyota Tacoma was recovered later in Kaʻū. Police have also released a photo of the truck.

Detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section are continuing to investigate this case as a murder.
