MEDIA RELEASE

Kailua Village Business Improvement District (KVBID) continues to boost momentum with an expanded series of 2015 events and activities specifically tailored for this active, engaging, fun and interesting destination for residents and visitors.

Weekly Tuesday Trot 5k Fun Run and Walk

On Tuesdays everyone is invited to join the Tuesday Trot 5k Fun Run and Walk throughout Historic Kailua Village.

Big Island Running Company coordinates the non-competitive, free weekly event that begins at their Alii Drive store location in the Coconut Grove Marketplace at 5 pm.

Participants enjoy the sights along Alii Drive and turn around at Makaeo Pavilion (Old Airport Park).

Visitors, residents, children, anyone and everyone are invited to join the community camaraderie and help promote active, healthy lifestyles.

“Building upon Kailua Village Business Improvement District’s Five Year Strategic Plan that sets forth near-term initiatives, our goal in 2015 is to up the fun, promote active, healthy lifestyles, and add a variety of events and activities that families, residents and visitors can all enjoy. These events bring people into the village and support and sustain local businesses,” said Riley Smith, KVBID president.
