West Hawaii legislators to discuss upcoming session (Jan. 15)

The next Community Forum sponsored by Community Enterprises is 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15 at the Old Kona Airport Park, Makaeo Pavilion.

This month’s forum will feature briefings by four West Hawaii State Legislators: Senate District 3 Sen. Josh Green, District 7 Rep. Cindy Evans, District 6 Rep. Nicole Lowen and District 5 Rep. Richard Creagan. State Sen. Lorraine Inouye is unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts.

The legislators will discuss their committee assignments, their priorities for legislation affecting the state and West Hawaii in particular.

The evening program will also feature a brief update of County Council business by a council member.

A panel discussion will follow the individual presentations and the audience will have the opportunity to present questions to the legislators. Sherry Bracken will serve as moderator for the evening program.

The doors will open at 5:30 pm and pupus and beverages will be served. The program is free and open to the public.
