Kona man dies Tuesday (Nov 25) at Kua Bay

A Kona man died Tuesday (November 25) in Kona waters.

He has been identified as 52-year-old James Michael Call of Kailua-Kona.

At 4:59 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a report of a possible drowning. The unresponsive victim was found floating in waters 100 yards offshore at Kua Bay. When officers and Fire Department personnel arrived, bystanders were attempting cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Fire/Rescue personnel took over the CPR and transported him to Kona Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:04 p.m.

Police do not suspect foul play. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
