MEDIA RELEASE
Hawaiian Telcom is focused on restoring service to less than 100 Big Island customers who are out of service, more than half in Nanawale.
In others areas of the Puna District, some customers may experience a temporary loss of service of about two hours as Hawaiian Telcom crews replace equipment and then re-connect customers over the next two weeks. These temporary disruptions do not need to be reported to Hawaiian Telcom unless the outage continues past 6 p.m. Should this occur, customers should contact Hawaiian Telcom’s 24-Hour Service Center at 643-6111.
Hawaiian Telcom continues to provide free Wi-Fi service at the Hawaiian Paradise Park Activity Center and the Pahoa Community Center. Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To take advantage of the free Wi-Fi, consumers should bring their own wireless devices, laptop computers, tablets and smartphones.
Hawaiian Telcom sincerely thanks the Big Island community for their patience and understanding as crews continue to work hard on restoring services.
