The detour around the Kamehameha Avenue/Pauahi Street intersection roadwork has new hours during weekdays.

The detour enters Bayfront Highway via Hilo Bayfront Beach Park (also known as Bayfront Highway canoe area). The new hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays but will be closed on holidays.

This extends the detour by 1.5 hours of operation during weekdays. The speed limit in the detoured area is 15 mph.
