King Kamehameha I was honored Tuesday (June 10) with a lei draping ceremony in Hilo. The official state holiday to celebrate King Kamehameha I is on June 11th with events scheduled.

Events to honor Kamehameha The Great on Wednesday (June 11) are:

• 7:45 a.m. North Kohala Kamehameha Day Celebration – In Kapaau
• 9 a.m. Kamehameha Festival – At Moku Ola (Coconut Island)
