The Omidyar Fellows has launched recruitment for the 2014-2015 cohort of Omidyar Fellows.

First launched in May 2012, the Omidyar Fellows is a leadership development program that cultivates, trains, and educates local emerging leaders, providing them with the skills and relationships necessary to make a positive, lasting impact on the state of Hawaii.

Applications for the 2014-2015 program are now available at www.omidyarfellows.org/apply and are due 4 p.m. Monday, June 30.

“For the past two years, we’ve helped Omidyar Fellows grow from individual emerging leaders to a close and engaged team of insightful, collaborative innovators,” said Kalei Stern, director of external relations for the Omidyar Fellows program. “We look forward to providing the next cohort of Omidyar Fellows with a chance to experience this remarkable transformation, which will ultimately help make Hawaii a better place.”

The Omidyar Fellows curriculum is tailored to meet the individual and diverse needs of each emerging leader. The 15-month program includes a full-day session each month, executive coaching, conversations with current leaders, and more.

In addition, Fellows participate in a collaborative solutions project, where, as a group, they identify, analyze and outline the critical elements of a real issue facing a community or communities of Hawaii.

“The Omidyar Fellows program has taught me much more than how to be a strong leader – I’ve also learned about my peers, my community, and most importantly, myself,” said Noelani Kalipi, a 2012- 2013 Omidyar Fellow and interim executive director of the Kohala Institute at Iole. “Omidyar Fellows continues to be a transformative experience that helps me to create innovative solutions, guide my team, and make real positive changes in our community.”

Omidyar Fellows is looking for applicants who represent a wide range of sectors including government, nonprofit, for-profit businesses, and labor unions.
