The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a flash flood watch for all Hawaiian Islands through late Saturday night (March 29).

A strong upper level trough will move over the Hawaiian Islands Saturday. For the Big Island mariners the Alenuihaha Channel, Windward waters, Leeward waters and Southeast waters may see thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms are capable of producing dangerous erratic winds and waterspouts, large hail, frequent lightning, intense rainfall with low visibility and locally higher seas.

Mariners should exercise caution and be ready for rapid changes in the weather through Saturday. The Northern half of the main Hawaiian islands will see most of the weather effects but Big Island mariners should use caution due to rapid changes in weather conditions.
