Military convoys February 26-28 and March 5 to impact traffic

East Hawaii

Pōhakuloa Training Area, Hawaii – Military convoys will deploy from Keaukaha Military Reserve (KMR) to Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA) on Feb. 26 – 28, 2014 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Also, Military convoys will redeploy from Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA) to Keaukaha Military Reserve (KMR) on March 5, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Roadways affected by the convoys are Hilo Airport Road, Kanoelehua Ave, Hwy 11, West Puainako St, Komohana Ave, Puainako Extension Rte 2000, and Daniel K. Inouye Hwy (Saddle Road).
These convoy units will have Military Police escorts.

Motorists are advised to be alert and drive with care. The Department of Army Police from PTA is working closely with local authorities and military units to coordinate this activity in support of unit training and readiness.

West Hawaii

Pōhakuloa Training Area, Hawaii – Military convoys will deploy from Kawaihae Pier (K-Pier) to Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA) on Feb. 26 – 28, 2014 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Roadways affected by the convoys are Akoni Pule Corridor, Queen Kaahumanu Hwy, Waikoloa Rd, Mamalahoa Hwy, and Daniel K. Inouye Hwy (Saddle Road).

These convoy units will have Hawaii Police Department (HPD) escorts.

Motorists are advised to be alert and drive with care. The Department of Army Police from PTA is working closely with local authorities and military units to coordinate this activity in support of unit training and readiness.
