Kona Subaru ‘Share the Love’

MEDIA RELEASE

Subaru Hawaii has announced its “Share the Love” sales event raised $7,500 for Hawaii Island Humane Society. And, as the winner of Subaru Hawaii’s Facebook fan page voting contest, Hawaii Island Humane Society earned an extra $5,000 donation, for a grand total of $12,500.

The “Share the Love” event donated $250 for every new vehicle sold by Subaru Hawaii dealers from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31, 2013.

In total, the “Share the Love” event raised $30,000 for a group of four great causes: $7,500 for Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii, $7,500 for American Red Cross – Hawaii State Chapter, $7,500 for SPCA Maui and $7,500 for Hawaii Island Humane Society.

The public also had an opportunity to vote for a favorite participating nonprofit organization on Subaru Hawaii’s Facebook page.

At the end of the sales event period, Hawaii Island Humane Society was the winner with 55 percent of all votes and earned an additional $5,000.

In total, Subaru Hawaii will donate $12,500 to Hawaii Island Humane Society.

“The funds we gratefully receive from Subaru Hawaii’s Share the Love program helps Hawaii Island Humane Society offer many pets a second chance at finding a loving home,” said Donna Whitaker, Executive Director of Hawaii Island Humane Society. “The Share the Love donation also helps us step up efforts to educate our community on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets.”
